Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible to ensure the company is in adherence with government laws and regulations.
- Continue to review, revise and create necessary financial analysis and report (i.e. Cash Flow, Profitability, Department Spending, Job Variances, etc.) with the goal of ensure profitability is at an acceptable level.
- Ensure all financial reports are accurate, on time and in adherence to all tax and government regulations and liaise with tax auditors and external accountants.
- Investigate and evaluate all credit applications and to approve/disapprove credit terms consistent with the company credit policies.
- Ensure the safe, secure, and reliable operation of the company’s internal controls and accounting procedures and that employees are trained in its use.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly journal entries for adjustment, accruals, and depreciation and prepares monthly internal and annual external financial statements.
- Prepare monthly budget variance reports and perform all necessary analysis to assist the General Manager and other managers to improve profitability.
- Ensure all departmental tasks are assigned, currently and in the future, a primary and secondary employee to handle them and ensure Position Guides and Job Descriptions reflect the same.
- Continue to review the company financing needs and work diligently with the necessary financial institutions on treasury and financing requirements.
- Continue to review the company cash and FX requirements with the goal and intention of forward management.
- Work with other managers and contribute to the overall financial success of their departments and company through setting metrics and assist in information analysis.
- Lead the annual budget process by working with other managers on financial analysis and forecasting using sound financial analysis and management.
- Conduct the development and maintenance of accounting and payroll policies, procedures, programs and practices necessary for the company’s operation.
What You Bring to Ampco:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CGPA, CMA, CA or CPA.
- Advanced education (MBA or Master's degree) considered an asset.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Experience overseeing full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
